Als Einführung ein englischer Text zu meinen besonderen Fähigkeiten im Bereich der Massage

I myself apply the massage quite often with closed eyes, listening to special relaxation music to recreate the atmosphere of a temple and to concentrate fully on a client as on a body and a soul that can be awakened to a new experience. I feel the skin and the layers of muscles and other tissues with my fingers and palms as if I was seeing through the skin. Naturally I have a solid knowledge of anatomy in vivo as every good physiotherapist should have. But there is something very special. I enjoy this immediate touch of the flesh and travel slowly deeper until I find the little spots which cause trouble.

The human body has some 120 bones and over 600 muscles and everywhere where muscles and bones connect there is a potential overstress. Also the fascias, the small enclosures of muscle fibres and inner organs of the body tend to harden. All these little spots lie relatively deep under the surface of the body and one can find them only by a patient work. Once they are free of tension ( Cyriax technique), the whole area is released and a feeling of easiness spreads throughout the body.

I can feel this very well and enjoy this release with the patient. Sometimes a discussion about the biography of the problem may follow such treatment. I often listen to meditative and relaxing music while working and special motion patterns come into my hands. I had a professor of music composition theory as one of my clients and asked him if my “performance” on his body was all right. He agreed and pointed out, that it was in perfect harmony with the music, that he felt himself as if his body was one with the music as far as melody, rhythm, cadence etc. are concerned.
